Week 1

Finally most of the ios apps are now getting iphone 5 screen size support. I have been deleting any apps that are not optimized for the iphone 5.

One thing i have noticed, is the sharp edges of the iphone 5 shell. Maybe its too sharp

One feature i would like on the new ios build would be an easy battery saver switch. I would like one button (on or off) to switch off the wifi, mobile data etc into a battery saving mode. I know you cant build this as an APP as apples doesn’t allow access to the features in the Development kit. Good suggestion for apple to add for the next revision.

The most noteworthy change in the device is the screen size. This time Apple played differently by keeping the screen size as 4 inches which is comparable to other smartphones in the market. Though the screen has been extended vertically, the width ratio is still the same like its previous iterations. The phone typically won’t suffice the expectations of users who are used to devices like Samsung galaxy note, Sony Xperia SL, etc.

Everybody is discussing the design changes in new Apply iPhone 5. It is slimmer, light and ultra fast. There are no radical changes in the new model but yes larger is better. Apple claims that it is the lightest smartphone ever made.
But the most impressive factor is the style. You will not get cheap plastic feel while holding this device in your hands. It has a solid construction, aluminum coating all over and on the back as well. It looks amazing. With the new iOS 6, the device will indeed surprise you a lot with its exclusive features!

This time the most significant change that Apple has come up with is the integration of LTE. In other words get the fastest cellular plan and enjoy uploads and downloads at remarkable speeds.
Battery is another add-on in new Apple iPhone 5 as the device has got a great battery backup. New iPhone has got an 8MP camera with true imaging features as seen in all other Apple devices.

How to set up Siri

By default, Siri is enabled.  To access Siri configuration, go to Settings > General > Siri.

How to open Siri

1. Hold down the home key.  You can activate Siri by holding down the home key for a few seconds.
2. Raise the iPhone to your ear.  If in your Siri configuration settings you set [Raise to Speak = On], you will be able to activate Siri by raising the iPhone to your ear.  After a moment, you should hear an audible tone indicating that you can begin to speak.
3. Access Siri via your bluetooth device. Siri does support activation via bluetooth devices.  You will have to test to see if your device is compatible.

• Find all email by [contact]. Siri will give you a short list of emails from the contact you ask for.
• What’s on my calendar for [date]. Siri will show you all your appointments for today, tomorrow
• Delete all alarms: Siri will delete all alarms, not just individual ones, in case you never want to be woken up again! (I found this by accident on Rene’s phone. Shhhh!)
• Message [Social network] [Status]. Try Twitter, Facebook, or another social network that lets you update via SMS, Siri will message your status right to it.
• Restart. Siri will reboot the iPhone.

From the beginning the iOS has always been exceptional and every year keeps upgrading it for its customers and now in 2011 the awaited iOS5 was launched. After going through all its improvements and innovations we have collected around 10 tips and tricks of iOS 5.

In the New location Center check for the locations. You can also get the seven day forecast also in the sideways swipe.

9. Twitter integration

In the iOS 5 the twitter has been included and it works really well. Once you start the Twitter app and add your username and password. So you can easily tweet up your favorite photo, video, some latest news, YouTube video, some useful link etc. It is really interesting to tweet.

10. Location-based reminders

There might be a possibility that you have to call up your spouse before leaving office and you forgot. This very app helps you in reminding you such things. In the reminders app click on the plus button, create the new reminder and then return. Then hit the Remind Me Button and later tapping on the location option fill up the location. Finally mark the option ‘When I Leave’ and hit the done button.
