Nokia recently launched its new Windows Phone 7 device, Lumia 710, at a very affordable price. Nokia is hoping high with this new phone and claims it to be the First real Windows phone. The phone has been designed for then young generation to give a tough competition to the BlackBerry, iPhone like smartphones.  The matt finished Lumia 710 is made up of smooth plastic that looks good in white colour. The light weight phone is easy to slip-in your pockets or a hand bag.

Physical appearance

The high quality screen of the Lumia 710 is 3.7 inches wide which is liked by most users. The resolution of screen is WVGA 800×480 pixels. The screen offers the ClearBlack display that allows you see the screen clearly even if direct sunlight is falling on the screen and there will be no glare. Under the touch screen it includes three buttons i.e. the Back Button, the Search Button and the Windows Button, but that do not sit well with this informal phone design. The proximity sensor is also present on the front side of the phone and the volume slider is present on the side of the phone accompanying the camera shutter button.

Nokia Lumia 710 Review Summary

Being a Microsoft Windows phone, it includes all the general specifications of the Microsoft. The Nokia Lumia 710 is one of the demanding phones because of its low cost.

Nokia has announced the launch of new X series music centric phone known as X5-01 during the Nokia Connection event at Singapore.  Nokia X5-01, a rather curious looking yoof phone that’s designed for text-happy youngsters who can’t afford don’t want a touchscreen smartphone.

The X5-01 is completely square, with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard (or keymat, as Nokia calls it) that’s similar to Nokia’s E-Series business phones.

The QWERTY handset comes with featuring an excellent 5MP camera and whopping social networking tools. The phone also comes studded with awesome multimedia options, accompanied with dedicated music keys and loud speakers.

The best part about the handset is that it will feature Symbian v3 as its opertaing system. Nokia X5-01 comes with a screen size of 2.36 inch bearing a resolution of 320 x 240 pixels.

In a sense, it’s a business phone for teens whose is social media.

Regarding the connectivity issues, it supports GPRS, Bluetooth 2.1, USB 2.0, EDGE, 3G, HSDPA and even WiFi. As stated earlier, it also focuses on social networking services. The phone offers easy access to major social networking sites like Facebook, Twitter, Hi5 and MySpace.

Nokia X5-01 has 200MB of onboard memory and you can always expand the memory options up to 32 GB. Moreover, the handset boasts of its unique spinning and shaking feature. Its spinning feature allows you to change music tracks whereas by shaking the phone, you can view all the unread messages.

You can look at the X5-01 in two different ways:

1. an innovative new approach to marketing phones to teens, offering them a socially-connected phone that acts like a business phone, but for the business of social media
2. a cynical way of extracting the very last dying embers of the N95’s old technology by packaging the same features that we’ve seen in dozens of Nokia phones into yet another form factor.

Which way you choose to look at it, I guess, will depend on how old you are, how much money you have (the X5-01 costs 165 Euros, so is very affordable), and just how cynical you’ve become with life!
