Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Mini is a great combination of being small yet powerful. In fact, this is one of the best mobile phones that have arrived in the recent times. The handset called XPERIA X10 Mini is so light weight that you can use it, play with it, and pocket in comfortably. The other phones with somewhat similar specifications are bulky and big, which is not the case with XPERIA X10 Mini. In fact, Sony Ericsson has announced two strikingly similar mobile phones in this range. One is named as Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Mini and the other one is Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 mini PRO. The only difference of Mini with Mini Pro is that the later one is equipped with a QWERTY keyboard. Mini is smaller than Mini Pro and therefore, it is handier, if you compare the two mobile phones. Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Mini runs on the Android 1.6, and it shoots through screens at lightening fast speed. Some of the prominent highlights of the mobile phone include 5 mega pixel camera, 2.55 inches QVGA screen, GPS for mapping and geo tagging. It has another amazing feature, like the Samsung S8500 Wave, X10 XPERIA Mini displays your entire social network alerts, calls, and texts in one place with its new application called Timescape.

However, such a feature is not very useful in a small screen handset like Mini and therefore, it can appear a bit awkward. The Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Mini is going to arrive in the market with diverse shades such as pearl white, pink, lime, red, silver, and black. The mobile phone is expected to release in the UK market by the second quarter of 2010.

XPERIA X10 Mini is boasts the support of both 2G and 3G connectivity. The users of 2G get the network coverage of the quad band GSM 850 / 900 / 1800 / 1900 while the 3G users have a tri band HSDPA 850 / 900 / 2100. Therefore, in terms of network, the mobile phone shows a good range. In terms of the connectivity features, Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Mini excels as well. It supports Class 10 GPRS and EDGE with the connectivity speed of 32 to 48 kbps and 236.8 kbps respectively. The browsing speed is also good in the mobile phone, thanks to HSDPA and Wi Fi. The users can easily transfer different files to/from other compatible devices. This facility is provided by the USB and Bluetooth® support of the mobile phone.

The look and the appearance of a mobile phone is always a deciding factor among the users. If a mobile phone is not attractive enough, there are chances that it will not succeed in the market because, in spite of having excellent features. There were several mobile phones in the past that only introduced latest applications and features, without improving the look of the handsets. The result of such phones is not encouraging and hence the new breeds of handsets are coming loaded with high-end features as well as fascinating looks. Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Mini is the perfect example of that. As the name suggests, XPERIA X10 Mini is a small and cute looking mobile phone. Almost the entire frontal portion of the handset is covered by the touch screen display. On top of the display, the logo of Sony Ericsson is placed, while at the bottom of the display, XPERIA is written. The size of the screen is 2.55 inches and its type is TFT capacitive. The display provides resolution of 240 x 320 pixels and provides 256,000 colours. Some of the prominent highlights of the display include scratch resistant surface, Timescape user interface, and accelerometer sensor for auto rotate. The display widgets and icons can be customized accordingly. For example, a user can set contact, messaging, music, etc. on the home screen for one touch access.

Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Mini is a feature-rich smart phone, and therefore, it comes with a good amount of applications and features. To store these applications and features, the memory capacity of the phone needs to be good. If the memory back up is not satisfactory for a smart phone like XPERIA X10 Mini, then it is of no use. The demand of new applications and features is increasing among the mobile phone users and to cope with it, adequate support of memory is a must. Considering these aspects, Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Mini provides a reasonably good memory back up option. The internal memory option of the mobile phone is 128 MB, and it is capable of storing practically unlimited entries and fields of the phone book and the call records. This is definitely not enough and therefore, the memory can be expanded by using the microSD™ TransFlash card slot, up to 16 GB. Sony Ericsson is providing 2GB memory card for free at the time of purchase.

Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 Mini comes loaded with a 5 mega pixel camera that can click some good quality snaps. The resolution of the snaps taken by this camera is 2560 x 1920 pixels. Some of the key features of the camera include geo tagging so that the user can keep track of the location where the photo has been taken and LED flash and auto focus for excellent picture in poor light conditions as well. Video recording is possible with the camera.

The mobile phone comes with a built in music player that can play diverse music files such as MP3, eAAC+, WMA, and WAV. It also features a video play back that is capable of playing MP4, H.263, H.264, and WMV. Other prominent applications that the mobile phone supports are Google Talk, Gmail, Google Maps, Google Search, and YouTube.
